Personal Introduction
Mr. Kan founded Tony Kan & Co. in March 1984.
Prior to establishing his own practice, Mr. Kan had worked in the Housing Department of the Hong Kong Government, the Attorney General's Chambers and various law firms as a solicitor.
Mr. Kan was an elected Member of the District Board of Shatin from 1985 to 2011. He was the Vice Chairman of the Provisional Regional Council before its dissolution on 31 December 1999. As a Councillor of Heung Yee Kuk in the New Territories and through his personal involvements with village representatives and his networks in the business sectors and through his participation in small-sized property development projects, Mr. Kan has established substantial client connections in the New Territories.
Mr. Kan is devoted to charitable activities in Hong Kong and China. He has launched various fund raising activities to help the flood victims in several districts in China and also helped various charitable education programs in China. Mr. Kan had made donations to scholarships and subsidies to help the poor and outstanding students in Tsinghua University in Beijing and Zijin Secondary School of Guangdong Province and also made donations to build primary and secondary schools.
